Conglomerate Stone

Geposted von Andrea Alexandra am

Conglomerate is a detrital terrigenous sedimentary rock which consists of gravel that has angular or rounded clasts which are usually larger than 2mm. Detrital sedimentary rocks are a meld of clasts that come from a variety of other rocks.
Conglomerate rock types can be found in Fluvial environments such as "braided or meandering streams" and in desert environments, like "alluvial fans, sand dunes, lakes". Conglomerate rocks may also form in glacial continental environments such as "outwashes or moraines" (Wicander).
In the video below, we examine the composition of Conglomerate stone!
