These rare beauties are very special, as this root crystal layer consists of pure crystalline Quartz, and is the first layer that grew from the host rock Granite matrix. A noticeable white chevron layer transitions the clear Quartz to a beautiful purple amethyst (Quartz irradiated with iron). Some specimens feature ametrine or prasiolite sections.

Banded layers of phantom chevrons stacked upon each other through ferromagnetic hydrothermal processes, solidifying 23+ minerals into a beautiful frozen cymatics displayed in bands of purple, clear, white, green, orange, and red, with a variety of iridescent metallic inclusions.

As the Red Cap Terminated Points are cleaved apart from the main cluster, the “Dragon Teeth layer cleaves into shards, releasing sharp “Dragon Teeth” raw wands that can cut like a knife.

Photograph of Boreal Chevron Amethyst in the process of being tumbled. - BAC/QI LLC Vibratory machines are  then used to process the rough material through several stages. It takes 4+ weeks to transform sharp these razor sharp crystals into smooth glassy crystals that are pleasant to hold and observe in detail.

While waiting over a month for a stone to tumble, that’s nothing compared to how long it took to grow in the first place! Geologists claim they’ve scientifically proven the dating of these rare chevron amethyst crystals to have formed 1.2-1.5 Billion years ago during the early formation of Earth.

Who knows how really old these crystals are, but one thing is for sure, DRAGON TEETH are SUPER RARE!
